"STAND FAST THEREFORE IN THE LIBERTY WHERE WITH CHRIST HATH MADE US FREE, AND BE NOT ENTANGLED AGAIN WITH THE YOKE OF BONDAGE" GALATIANS 5:1?
Paul's statement to the Galatians here in chapter 5 verse 1; has come to be one of, if not, my favorite verse in the Word of God. I believe this to be so for two very distinct reasons that honestly speaks to who I am today and who I was. The first reason I find this verse special to me is the terminology, Paul uses words that is understood by any and every Army men/women. Standfast! This was a command we heard often and we all new it's meaning and intent. You see "Standfast" meant to Stand Ready for something, be it instructions, commands, or those flavored words of wisdom by our senoir non-comms. Also it meant to stand somewhere specfic, don't move around stand right there (where ever there was). However we knew that Standfast didn't mean to just stand around "idle". Something was to come after we heard those words. Just as Paul instructed the Galatians to Standfast (stand ready) in the Liberty that Christ had given them. Paul issued the command, and the Galatians knew to be ready more instructions or whatever was coming. The second reason has to do will the freedom Christ has given us from the "Yoke of Bondage". My yoke may be different from yours or we may share a yoke, never the less we have been set free from it (Thanks to our Liberator) and if we stand fast in that, we will not get tangled in it again. Our safety from the bondage of whatever is in the security of Christ's Liberty. So Standfast!

*ALL OF THESE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR ONE CAUSE LIBERTY!
*HOWEVER ONE MAN GAVE HIS LIFE ON FOREIGN GROUND SO THAT ALL MANKIND COULD BE LIBERATED.
*ONE MAN GAVE ALL THAT MEN OF EVERY TOUNGE AND EVERY NATION COULD BE FREE.
*ONE MAN SUFFERED, BLED, AND DIED SO THAT YOU COULD HAVE LIBERTY!

THE BIBLE SAYS "GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS." John 15:13
BUT THIS MAN NOT ONLY DIED FOR HIS FRIENDS BUT MOST NOTEABLE HE DIED FOR HIS EMENIES. YOU SEE THE BIBLE SAYS "WHOSOEVER WILL BE A FRIEND OF THE WORLD IS THE ENEMY OF GOD." James 4:4
WARNINGS ABOUT LIBERTY: GALATIANS 5:13-14
But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. 1 Cor. 8:9
As free, and not using [your] liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 1 Peter 2:16
JESUS HAS GIVEN US THE LIBERTY TO:
"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matt. 7:13-14
We were in Bondage to the Law, until CHRIST.
We were in Bondage to sin, until Christ.
We were in Bondage to Death, until Christ.
We have a choice Christ has fulfilled the Law, Christ has paid the sin debt. Christ has defeated DEATH!
"ALL MEN DIE; BUT FEW MEN EVER LIVE" William Wallace
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 1 Corinthians 15:21-22
Jesus said; "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? John 11:25-26
Jesus also said; "because I live, ye shall live also. John 14:19
The thief (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10
But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. Luke 22:26-27
The story of INASMUCH:
34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I wasnaked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'
37 "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?' 40 And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
41 "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.'
44 "Then they also will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?' 45 Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.' Matt. 25:34-45
For though I be free from all [men], yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all [men], that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the gospel's sake, 1 Corinthians 9:19-23
